DESCRIPTION:<p>Ladies and Gentlemen,<br />The Center for European Studies and the Cente
 r for American Studies invite you to participate in the 5th National Confer
 ence on "Addictions and Law, Psychology, and Social Sciences".</p><p><br />
 When?<br />The conference will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, between
  9:00 and 16:00 online on the Microsoft Teams platform.</p><p>The exact len
 gth of the conference depends on the number of speakers. In the event of a 
 high number of applications, we reserve the right to extend the congress to
  Sunday, March 30, 2025.</p><p><br />What is the conference about?<br />Sex
 ? Drugs? Alcohol? Pornography? Work? The Internet?</p><p>That's not all. Ad
 dictions have been an element of social life since the dawn of humanity and
  - as can be expected - will accompany us until its end.</p><p>How does the
  law relate to them? What does psychology and other sciences about man and 
 society tell us about them?<br />The main objective of the conference is to
  discuss addictions from an interdisciplinary perspective, using legal, psy
 chological, political, economic, sociological and cultural research tools.<
 /p><p>Proposed (example) thematic areas:<br />• Sex, alcohol, drugs, pornog
 raphy (and others) and the law<br />• Addictions in the era of the COVID-19
  pandemic<br />• Addictions and social distancing<br />• Treatment and ther
 apies for various addictions in Poland and around the world<br />• Types of
  addictions and their symptoms, as well as individual and general social ef
 fects<br />• Mental disorders caused by addictions<br />• Alcoholism and dr
 ug addiction in the home and family<br />• Workaholism in modern societies<
 br />• and much more!</p><p><br />The above thematic areas are only example
 s - we strongly encourage you to go beyond them.</p><p>In addition, the pre
 sentations may be interdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of 
 science.</p><p>Note: the presentations do not have to be comparative in nat
 ure - speakers may discuss issues related to only *one* of the selected are
 as.</p><p>We believe in freedom of academic discussion and do not censor sp
 eeches for ideological or political reasons.</p><p>Original and unconventio
 nal speeches will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.</p><p>
 For whom?<br />• We cordially invite students and PhD students, experienced
  researchers, as well as all other people interested in the conference topi
 cs to actively participate in the conference.<br />• Passive participation
