 merican Studies invite you to participate in the 5th National Conference on
  "Addictions and Law, Psychology, and Social Sciences".\n\nWhen?\nThe confe

 ne on the Microsoft Teams platform.\nThe exact length of the conference dep
 ends on the number of speakers. In the event of a high number of applicatio
 ns, we reserve the right to extend the congress to Sunday, March 30, 2025.\
 n\nWhat is the conference about?\nSex? Drugs? Alcohol? Pornography? Work? T
 he Internet?\nThat's not all. Addictions have been an element of social lif
 e since the dawn of humanity and - as can be expected - will accompany us u
 ntil its end.\nHow does the law relate to them? What does psychology and ot
 her sciences about man and society tell us about them?\nThe main objective 
 of the conference is to discuss addictions from an interdisciplinary perspe
 ctive, using legal, psychological, political, economic, sociological and cu
 ltural research tools.\nProposed (example) thematic areas:\n• Sex, alcohol,
  drugs, pornography (and others) and the law\n• Addictions in the era of th
 e COVID-19 pandemic\n• Addictions and social distancing\n• Treatment and th
 erapies for various addictions in Poland and around the world\n• Types of a
 ddictions and their symptoms, as well as individual and general social effe
 cts\n• Mental disorders caused by addictions\n• Alcoholism and drug addicti
 on in the home and family\n• Workaholism in modern societies\n• and much mo
 re!\n\nThe above thematic areas are only examples - we strongly encourage y
 ou to go beyond them.\nIn addition, the presentations may be interdisciplin
 ary in nature, combining various fields of science.\nNote: the presentation
 s do not have to be comparative in nature - speakers may discuss issues rel
 ated to only *one* of the selected areas.\nWe believe in freedom of academi
 c discussion and do not censor speeches for ideological or political reason
 s.\nOriginal and unconventional speeches will always be appreciated by the 
 Scientific Committee.\nFor whom?\n• We cordially invite students and PhD st
 udents, experienced researchers, as well as all other people interested in
