DESCRIPTION:Ladies and Gentlemen!\nThe Center for European Studies and the Center for A
 merican Studies invite you to participate in the 5th National Conference en
 titled "LGBTQ+ People and Law, Psychology, and Social Sciences".\nWhen?\nTh
 e conference will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, between 9:00 and 16:00
  online on the Microsoft Teams platform.\nThe length of the conference depe
 nds on the number of speakers. In the event of a large number of applicatio
 ns, we reserve the right to extend the conference to Sunday, May 18, 2025.\
 nWhat is the conference about?\nThe main objective of the conference is to 
 discuss LGBTQ+ people in Poland, Europe, and the world - their general situ
 ation, condition, and problems - through the prism of social sciences and h
 umanities such as law, psychology, political science, sociology, philosophy
 , economics, history, and cultural studies.\nThe aim of the conference is t
 o present a broad perspective on the situation of LGBTQ+ people. We will di
 scuss the history of LGBTQ+, legal regulations and social attitudes that af
 fect LGBTQ+ people, and the attitudes of political groups and politicians t
 owards the LGBTQ+ community.\nWe will also discuss the problems of the pres
 ence of LGBTQ+ people in culture, history and art. We encourage you to subm
 it proposals for addressing the discussed problems and conceptualizing thei
 r upcoming solutions.\nProposed (example) thematic areas:\n• history of the
  LGBTQ+ community\n• legal discrimination of LGBTQ+ people\n• LGBTQ+ people
  in culture\n• pinkwashing in the world and in Poland\n• social and family 
 exclusion of sexual minorities\n• homophobia in modern societies\n• civil p
 artnerships in the law of European countries\n• mental disorders among LGBT
 Q+ people\n• LGBTQ+ people and the adoption of children\n• LGBTQ+ movement 
 in the USA\n• social and psychological aspects of exclusion\n• LGBTQ+ and g
 eopolitics\n• legal aspects of the functioning of LGBTQ+ people in Poland, 
 Europe and the world\n• Polish law and gender recognition issues\n• and man
 y more!\nThe above-mentioned thematic areas are only examples – we strongly
  encourage you to go beyond them. In addition, the presentations may be int
 erdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of science.\nWe believe 
 in the freedom of academic discussion and do not censor presentations for i
 deological or political reasons. Original and unconventional presentations 
 will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.\nFor whom?\n• We co
 rdially invite students and PhD students, experienced researchers, practiti
 oners, as well as all other people interested in the conference topics to a
